Meet The Team

Peter Daly

Peter Daly is the Owner and principal; he is the only RYA Powerboat and Personal Watercraft Trainer in Africa. His 30 plus years of teaching watersports including Sailing yachts, Motor yachts and powerboating / Personal watercraft gives the centre excellent leadership, offering clients the best training available.

Peter has been teaching in England, Wales, France, Spain, South Africa and running expedition’s including 4 months in Patagonia Chile. In addition Peter has skippered various yachts for charter work and deliveries.

Any outdoor activity is on the list to try, he enjoys sailing, windsurfing, snow skiing, golf and spending time with the family, all of which happens when he gets the time. Peter is happily married to Yolanda and they have the most wonderful son William.

Natalie

Please welcome Natalie to Skipper Training SA. Her appointment as Sales & Marketing manager will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Natalie will be everyone’s point of contact from students to instructors and anyone needing up to date advice about the industry.

Richard

Richard has been sailing most of his life and enjoys imparting his knowledge onto others as it is a great opportunity to escape from the busy world of running the leading yacht and charter company in the V&A waterfront. Richard instructs all the powerboat courses, PWC (Jet Ski), VHF radio and Navigation.

Simon

Simon has been working in the superyacht industry and delivering yachts around the world for almost 10 years. His knowledge comes from starting out as a deckhand then Bosun and skipper working on both sail and motor yachts in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Palm Beach with several Atlantic crossings delivering new Leopard yachts.

Simon has been instructing for many years and offers a wealth of knowledge about the industry and the courses he teaches. These include Powerboat level 2, PWC (Jet Ski) navigation training, and miles building. Simon also Skippers various motor yachts in the V&A waterfront.

Daniel

Daniel is our go to guy for this knowledge and background in the Sailing and powerboat areas. He holds many qualifications including the Advance Powerboat instructor. This means you will probably meet him when you do the RYA Tender Operators or Advance course.

Robin

Robin is a family man with a young son. Over the years he has sailed in the Mediterranean and Caribbean and done 4 Atlantic crossings. Qualifications include; Yachtmaster Ocean (Power and Sail), Cruising Instructor (Power and Sail), Started sailing in ’98.

Recently Robin gained his Powerboat and Personal Watercraft instructor’s certificates under the training of Peter Daly and Laurence West. He is currently serving as the Chief Officer on a 45m 3 masted schooner in Dubai. When on leave he joins us for a few weeks to impart his knowledge while teaching powerboating and PWC (Jet Ski).

Dylan

As a talented skipper and enthusiastic instructor Dylan imparts wonderful knowledge and skill to the students. Teaching all the levels of Powerboating and PWC (Jet Ski) course to our students.

His background of Diving, Engineering and Photography keeps him busy. When out on the boat he often spots amazing sea life. The course has a short break to watch Whales, dolphins, seals, sail fish etc.

Monique

Monique looks after our Facebook and social media requirements. We met through her passion for water sports when she came to us for a Windsurfing lesson. Since then she has been co-ordinating our requirements in the social media fields.
