Deckhand Courses

These group of courses are aimed to equip an individual with the right knowledge and licenses to enter the Super Yacht Industry.
We will cover everything from how to enter the industry right through to getting the licenses that you would require to secure your first position.

The Deckhand courses are a great introduction into the industry and provides a well-balanced introduction. The industry requires many qualifications and experience which are gained over time. These courses will give you the edge when looking for employment.

Deckhand / Interior / Engine

There is a demand for crew to have a wide range of skills, this can be useful on smaller vessels where everyone helps out from time to time. So consider gaining experience / courses / qualifications in other departments. We can supply many related courses from Kite and dive instructors to food hygiene certificates

Deckhand – Minimum

This really is the minimum required and you need to have prior experience in the marine world such as Dive Instructor, Charter boat operator to succeed with this course.

Deckhand – Pro

This course can work for people looking to work in the industry for a short period of time or if they are not quite sure where they would like their carrier path to go. Advance Deckhand Course

We provide these key courses to really give you the edge. Without doubt the market is busy with lots of new yachts and lots of staff leaving and joining the Super Yacht market. Our Advance deckhand course will provide the knowledge, qualifications and experience to enter the market with confidence. Starting salaries can be R40,000 a month with accommodation and food included.

Advance Deckhand

If you have prior powerboat experience you can apply for the RYA / MCA Advance certificate of competence exam. This would allow you to operate commercial powerboats day and night.

Should you have prior experience then the PWC Instructor course is well worth investing in for deck hands looking to advance in the industry.
